Art students earn top award

Middle schools advance to national Academic Pentathlon competition

The academic excellence of Garland ISD students is gaining national attention thanks to Austin Academy for Excellence and Jackson Technology Center for Math and Science. The United States Academic Pentathlon National Competition was held last month in Omaha, Nebraska, with GISD students taking home several top prizes.

New superintendent launches listening tour

Livestock and Plant Show and Sale names Grand Champions

Rising to the top amongst thousands of high school students in Garland ISD, several have been named Grand Champions of the 74th annual Livestock and Plant Show and Sale.

Every year, this event showcases the hard work of Career and Technical Education students all across the district. Every year, participants also impress with their cattle, swine, shrubs, flowers and more that are raised from fledglings to full-grown.

LCHS athlete earns medal at state competition

Junior Mariah Ayers was one of just eight GISD students who advanced to the recent state UIL track and field competition. She was also one of just nine athletes across the state to qualify for the 200-meter dash.
