Quarter 2 Selection Form deadline

Families still have time to change their instructional model selection of remote or face-to-face learning for the second grading period, which starts Oct. 12. The deadline to submit the Quarter 2 Instructional Model Selection Form has been extended to Friday, Sept. 18. If you would like your student to remain in their current instructional model, you do not need to submit a form.

Intersession enrollment

Garland ISD’s first-ever fall Intersession is right around the corner. From Oct. 6-9, students can participate in intervention, acceleration and enrichment activities either face-to-face or remotely. Each four-hour day will include breakfast, two learning sessions and lunch. Eligible students will also receive transportation. Please visit our Intersession webpage to learn more, and reach out to your home campus to enroll.

Athletics event attendance

We are excited to see our award-winning athletes in motion this historic year. As we kick off our highly anticipated 2020-21 competition season, GISD is introducing new guidelines to support social distancing. Please review our event attendance guidelines webpage to review spectator accommodations and best practices for volleyball and football games.

TRE frequently asked questions

Did you know that Garland ISD’s innovative Tax Rate Election will impact every student and staff member? If passed, GISD’s TRE will provide an additional $42 million dollars needed to sustain our exceptional academics, athletics, fine arts and additional valuable programs. This unique proposition will also reduce the property tax rate by nearly .05 cents. #BelieveInGISD and see frequently asked questions addressing the #GISDTaxReductionElection at garlandisdTRE.com/faqs.
