Collegiate Academy for Technology

Collegiate Academy for Technology at Rowlett High school is a program that provides students with technical and workplace skills as well as college credit opportunities. While getting their high school diploma students can earn up to 60 free college hours and have the potential to earn an Associate’s degree in Gaming or Software Design.

Specific student skills will be highlighted with industry certificates in their related fields.  This opportunity is free to the students and will include internships with our partnerships with Microsoft and GameStop. These experiences can lead to paid internships or employment immediately after high school.

Collegiate Academy for Technology  at Rowlett High school shall serve all students and specifically enroll diverse groups that include students who are underrepresented in college courses.

Students must apply to participate in this program during the magnet application window.

Students must meet the following to be considered:
  • Motivated by taking advanced coursework
  • Want to attend college and willing to work hard
  • Willing to learn college readiness skills and use them daily

Collegiate Academy for Technology  at Rowlett High school will accept up to 125 incoming ninth-graders each year who meet program criteria.

How to apply

Students must make their magnet selections online via Skyward and complete a paper application to be considered for this magnet program.
