At a special meeting on August 12, the Garland ISD Board of Trustees approved 6-0 Proposition A, also known as a Voter-Approved Tax Rate Election (VATRE).

On November 4, 2025, Garland ISD voters will consider Proposition A, a state-required election that would give the district permission to adopt its board-approved Maintenance & Operations (M&O) rate for the current year.

Approval would provide access to additional state and local revenue for day-to-day operations such as teacher and staff retention, student programs, special education, and safety & security.
