Our Board of Trustees meet for a work session and a regular meeting each month to conduct district business, discuss issues, and present awards.
Educating 57,000 students across 71 campuses, Garland ISD ranks as the second-largest district in Dallas County, fourth-largest in Dallas-Fort Worth, 13th-largest in Texas, and is among the 70-largest in America.
The district spans the cities of Garland, Rowlett and Sachse, yet maintains a small town, family feel. With a rich tradition of excellence, GISD boasts a diverse population that speaks more than 100 languages, as well as technology-driven campuses, magnet programs and approximately 200 Career and Technical Education courses.
Students, staff, parents and community members worked together to create a plan to establish our priorities and guide us through the 2014-18 school years.
Find out how well our schools are engaging students and the community, how our students perform on standardized tests, state accountability information and more.
To enhance learning and further engage our students we will put technology into the hands of every high school student this fall, and then middle school students the following year.
