If passed, Proposition A is projected to provide about $56 million in additional funds annually for teacher and staff salaries, student programs, specialized education services and safety and security.

Books on the move

The Reading with Rodney mobile library travels around the district to give students greater access to books.

Students, as well as family and community members, can check out books on the bus and return them to any GISD campus. This mobile library also boasts Wi-Fi access.

Schedule of mobile library stops

Check out a book from the bus and return it to any GISD school. During the summer, books may be returned to the bus at any stop on the summer schedule. After August 1, books may be returned to any GISD campus library.

Rodney's story

This literacy-driven initiative was inspired by Curtis Culwell Center Operations Specialist Rodney Mills, who overcame a personal struggle with reading thanks to two district teachers. Reading with Rodney aims to help district students discover Mills’ same passion for learning.
