Requirements to return to athletics after COVID-19 diagnosis
Following new guidance from the University Interscholastic League (UIL), all Garland ISD student-athletes who are diagnosed with COVID-19 must receive clearance from a physician prior to returning to athletic activities.
In addition to medical clearance, the Garland ISD Athletics Department also requires student-athletes who are diagnosed with COVID-19 to complete a gradual return to sports protocol. This protocol allows a licensed athletic trainer or representative to observe the student-athletes as they resume training to ensure that there are no complications from previous COVID-19 symptoms.
Please contact the Garland ISD Athletics Department at A903@garlandisd.net or 972-494-8588if you have any questions.
Please note that this site section and the Athletic Department are separate from Physical Education.
