Canvas for families
Canvas is the learning platform used by all GISD students. Canvas allows students to interact during classes, actively engage in assignments, take quizzes, collaborate with peers, communicate with teachers, and more.
All courses are housed in Canvas. Canvas will be for every student, every day regardless of their selected mode of instruction. Face-to-face students will participate in blended learning through the system while fully-remote students will be able to access all coursework. Teachers will be able to host their live lessons via Google Meets and house them in Canvas as well as document attendance, assignments and all communication to students and parents.

Visit Technology Knowledge Base website for help with setting up and using district-provided technology devices.
|Bring Your Own Device||Face-to-Face Users||Students who do not have a district issued device, and are returning to Face-to-Face instruction, have the option to bring their own device to school. Students will be able to access Canvas and all online instructional resources using the GISD byod wifi network. If you would like to request a district device, please contact your child’s school.|

Coolpad Surf Hotspot tech support is available by calling 1Million Student Care at 844-309-1680, 7 a.m. –10 p.m. (Central).

For additional technical assistance, please contact your child's teacher and have them submit a ticket for the campus technology assistant to help you.
