The Public Affairs Luncheon Club
Scholarship Requirements
- Essay response (1-3 pages double-spaced) to the following question:
- The United States is a Republic. Why do you think the founders of the United States chose to form a Republic rather than a Democracy and how does this choice benefit all of us as citizens?
- Essay must have the following statement printed and signed at its conclusion: "I attest that the research, opinions and writing of this essay are entirely my own owrk and that no AI/artificial.intelligence contributed to its' creation".
- Two letters of Recommendation
- From a high school teacher or counselor who knows you and can attest to your academic acheivements and school leadership.
- From a supervisor from your volunteer or paying work who can verify your length of service, character and commitment to community and public affairs.
Application Submission and Deadline
A complete appplication includes (1) application form, (2) official school transcript, (3) minimum SAT of 1250, minimum ACT scre of 30 and AP test Scores, (4) essay, and (5) two letters of recommendation on letter head and signed with telephone number as we may contact them for verification.
Submit by emial to president@dpalc.com (with separate email confirming your submission) or by U.S. mail to "PALC (ATTN: Scholarship Committee), P.O. Box 12625 Dallas, TX 75225."
Only fully completed applications will be considered. Applications missing required documents will be considered ineligible.
The winner will be notified in early May and nonored at the May annual meeting of the Club which which is held May 2026. Notice will be givewn to the winner in writing by email and/or US Mail.
