Canvas is now fully operational, and the data breach has been resolved. GISD plans to begin restoring Canvas access for staff and students on Tuesday morning, May 12.

Special Education Stipends for 2026-27

In addition to the starting teacher salary, the following stipends will be available for 2026-27 Special Education professionals:

  • $1,000-$3,500 Special Education (depending on position)
  • $10,000 Speech Language Pathologist

$5,000 Additional Critical Shortage Stipend

  • Licensed School Psychologists
  • Diagnosticians
  • Speech Language Pathologists
  • SPED Teachers Self-Contained Units
    • Alternative Learning Environment (ALE)
    • Adaptive Behavior and Communication (ABC)
    • Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE)
    • Behavior Adjustment program (BA)
      Behavior Analysis Services and Education (BASE)
    • Functional Behavioral Environment (FBE)

    4% Step Increase

    Plus TRA-eligible teachers with 3-4 years- $2500, 5+ years-$5000

    Campus staff increase based on midpoint

    Increase for Aux/Para staff based on midpoint

    $25.25/hr

    Starting salary for bus drivers

    2% Increase

    Increase for district admin staff based on midpoint
