The GISD Robotics Family Expo allows students from across the district to test drive the latest robotic technology while learning from top Texas Instrument engineers. 

GISD Campus PTA organizations have been recognized as a School of Excellence by the National PTA.

Many schools from GISD scored excellent ratings, with North Garland High School becoming the first high school in GISD history to achieve an "A" accountability rating in the STAAR era.

This year, GISD has four National Merit Finalists. Merit finalists are an elite group of scholars, and we are very proud to celebrate their outstanding academic achievements.

Jordan Myers, a senior at Rowlett High School in GISD, has been awarded the Texas Caucus of Black School Board Members Scholarship. Myers will be graduating in a couple of weeks and plans to attend the University of Texas at Austin and major in psychology on the pre-med route.

Dallas College held graduation for students in GISD who earned an associate's degree during their coursework. The Class of 2022 in GISD graduated hundreds of students in this program.

According to a law firm Edgar Snyder & Associates study, more than 90% of teens believe their classmates will likely drink and drive on prom night. This statistic is why Sachse High School took part in the "Shattered Dreams" educational experience last month at their campus.

Congratulations to the LCHS gymnastics team for placing third in regionals and going on to state.

Divyon Ivy Veail, a senior in the AVID program at Garland High School, has been recognized as a 2022 Dell Scholar by the Michael and Susan Dell Foundation.
