More than 700 people experienced #TheGISDEffect at the #ChooseGarlandISD Expo Tuesday, Dec. 7. 

The Garland ISD Education Foundation's annual holiday-themed fundraising event raised $127,000-plus to support students and teachers. All money raised will help support innovative learning. 

Garland ISD students and staff honored our brave men and women in uniform during Veterans Day events Nov. 11. 

The GISD Effect is a movement to share all the extraordinary things GISD is doing that impact our community. Over the lifetime of GISD, we have reshaped countless lives. For a year and a half, COVID-19 has created challenges for educators across the globe. Yet, despite the pandemic, administrators, teachers, staff and the community have risen to ensure students' success across our tri-cities. This energy and passion are all part of The GISD Effect.

Senior citizens, veterans, active duty military and parents of young children not yet enrolled in GISD are encouraged to connect with us via VIP and Littles Club memberships.

Garland ISD is proud to be one of six districts chosen for The Holdsworth Center Partnership, a five-year journey that will help us grow more strong, inspiring leaders to help teachers thrive and students succeed.

SGS is committed to a common goal: more students in better schools every year. Eighteen districts have joined SGS from 2017-19, and GISD is proud to be a member of Cohort 4, launching this year.

With less than five percent of districts across the nation earning this award, it acknowledges GISD’s dedication to transformational change in the interest of equity and the well-being of all students.

Garland ISD's history of being financially responsible, stretching budgets, doing more with less and being good stewards of taxpayer dollars is being recognized by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada.
